If low sexual desire and HSDD are so common, how come I don’t know anyone else who’s dealing with it?

Nat Answered
“I’ve yet to be diagnosed, but pretty sure I have HSDD for the last 4 years. I don’t go around telling my friends and family about my sexual frustrations. The one person I did explain my feelings to told me it was just my perspective in the moment and it’s basically in my head. So I kinda shut down the whole “tell people about it” thing. I’ve never heard of anyone else feeling the way we do either”

Why don’t more women who have low sexual desire just ask their healthcare provider about it?

Nat Answered
“I didn’t know it was a thing until I saw a video about it on scary mommy. If I had know it was an actual thing I would’ve brought it up 4 years ago. Up until today I thought it was “all in my head”... and some other factors.”
