What age were you when you first noticed low sexual desire?

Nurse_A Answered
“I think I’ve always had it, just didn’t realize it because I wasn’t comparing it to a previous time when I had a normal sex drive; it’s just how I always was.”

Have you been diagnosed with HSDD? What was that like?

Nurse_A Answered
“I haven’t and I think it’s because a lot of doctors don’t recognize HSDD as a real condition or diagnosis. They believe the hyposexual drive is a side effect of something else.”

What is the recommended treatment for HSDD?

Nurse_A Answered
“My GYN said the same thing and even went as far as recommending books about sexual abuse. He’s apart of an older generation that doesn’t believe HSDD is a thing unless trauma is present.”

If low sexual desire and HSDD are so common, how come I don’t know anyone else who’s dealing with it?

Nurse_A Answered
“Because no one talks about it. But we’re all here looking for answers so it’s definitely a real thing.”

Why don’t more women who have low sexual desire just ask their healthcare provider about it?

Nurse_A Answered
“Every doctor I spoke with about it before said something along the lines of, “you’re not having sex with the right partner”. My husband is definitely the right person. The missing link is in me.”
